What to expect when you work with me

To ensure that you receive the best care possible, I will:

  • Use fundamental sports and exercise principles to help you enhance your preparation for, and optimise your performance in your chosen sport(s).
  • Ensure that you have great injury prevention programmes in place.
  • Assess, treat, rehabilitate and if appropriate, refer you on for specialist advice and intervention.
  • Provide appropriate soft tissue interventions for you in a sport & exercise context.
  • Work with you to plan and implement appropriate rehabilitation and return to training/work programmes.

Initial consultation

Alistair will conduct a thorough assessment of your injury/injuries and will work with you to understand and record the full details of the problem.  This will be followed by a treatment plan and a detailed rehabilitation prescription.

Follow Up Sessions

Alistair and you will work together to review your current injury, and assess your rehabilitation progression, including further treatment as necessary, and altering or progressing Rehabilitation exercises where needed.

Future Injury Prevention

When you are content that the current problem is fixed, and the immediate need for treatment is complete, Alistair will explain to you the best way to stay on top of pain or prevent further injuries, or pain to the area in the future.

Alistair frost sports therapy

Hello, I’m Alistair Frost, a dedicated and highly skilled Sports Therapist based in Warminster. With a BSc (Hons) in Sports Therapy from The University of the West of England (UWE), I bring a wealth of knowledge and hands-on experience to my practice.

My journey began with extensive training and practical experience during my studies, where I worked alongside esteemed MOD physiotherapists in Warminster and Tidworth garrisons. I also honed my skills as a massage therapist with Gloucester RFC, gaining valuable insights into the world of sports rehabilitation.

After graduating in October 2019, I embarked on an international adventure to New Zealand, where I played rugby and expanded my expertise by observing top-tier physiotherapists at College Rifles RFC. This global perspective enriched my understanding of sports therapy and allowed me to bring innovative techniques back to the UK.

Returning to the UK, I continued to refine my skills by working closely with Frome RFC physiotherapists and supporting the Scotty’s Little Soldiers 7s team. My hands-on experience has enabled me to help numerous athletes continue playing their sport and start their recovery journeys effectively.

Now, I’ve established my own clinic at Harridges Gym in Warminster town centre. My mission is to provide personalised, effective sports therapy that helps clients overcome pain, recover from injuries, and live a healthy and active lifestyle. With a growing list of satisfied clients and a commitment to excellence, I’m excited about the future and eager to help you reach your health and fitness goals.

Consultation

During your initial consultation with Alistair, we will conduct a comprehensive assessment to understand your injury, pinpoint the source of your pain, and determine the duration of your discomfort. Through functional tests, we identify underlying issues, allowing us to create a tailored treatment plan. Depending on your specific needs, your treatment may include massage therapy, vertebral and peripheral mobilisations, and a customised rehabilitation programme.

Massage

In discussion with Alistair, you can choose from a range of massage options tailored to your needs. These include deep tissue massage, designed to relieve severe tension and reach deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue; sports massage, which focuses on specific muscle groups used in athletic activities; and relaxation massage, aimed at reducing stress and promoting overall well-being.

Review Sessions

Review sessions provide an opportunity to discuss your progress, assess how you're feeling, and evaluate the status of your injury or pain. During these sessions, we will review your rehabilitation programme, monitor your progress, and make any necessary adjustments. This may include progressions, regressions, or other changes to ensure your recovery is on track and aligned with your goals.
